He has been hinting at leaving the Wiper party but he has never made it as official as he boldly did when he launched his Maendeleo Chap Chap party at Bomas of Kenya.

Members of Wiper party have always accused him of working closely with Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government. He has even been labelled a "Jubilee Mole." But here is why Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka should not ignore Mutua's exit as a non-issue.

There is a huge lesson Kalonzo can learn from Raila Odinga - William Ruto fall-out. ODM leader Raila and Ruto worked together in 2007. After the elections, Ruto left the Orange party and formed United Republican party but Raila seemed to have ignored him.

Later, Ruto's party worked with Uhuru's TNA to form the government, leaving Raila in the cold.

The same fate might befall Kalonzo if he ignores Mutua's exit. Kalonzo needs to work out a counter-attack strategy lest he is left out in the cold.
