[Photo: Twitter]John Paul Mwirigi, will be the youngest MP at the National Assembly if IEBC declares him winner of the Igembe South parliamentary seat, Meru County.The 24-year-old third year Mt Kenya University student is an independent candidate, who campaigned on his bicycle and on foot, reminding voters to identify him with his grey sweater when at the ballot.He describes himself as a “hustler wa kawaida” and he never had posters, billboards during campaigns, due to lack of funds. Most of his campaigns were being funded by his supporters.By Thursday morning, provisional results showed him on top with 19 624 votes (39,29%), followed by Joseph Mwereria of Jubilee Party, at 16 117 votes (32,27%).Others who were on the ballot include Martin Mutuma of Maendeleo Chap Chap Party 6 763 votes (13,54%), Joseph Mwenda of Party of National Unity (PNU) 5 219 votes (10,45%), and Raphael Muriungi of DP at 2 220 votes (4,45%).
