President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto left Kenyans talking when they snubbed former prime minister during Madaraka Day Celebrations in Nyeri.

Polls have shown that the country is headed in the wrong direction and that is exactly the message Jubilee leaders sent on Madaraka by making the event lack a national outlook.

The advisers of the president should remind him that silence speaks and sympathy votes are not a theory. The face of the NASA Presidential candidate could speak volumes when he left the celebration after being ignored.

There are Kenyans who love listening to Raila although they are not his supporters. This group of Kenyans is wondering where this nation is head if we reach points of assuming each other in national celebrations.

Voters who are yet to decide must have been left in deep shock to see one of the potential presidents being ignored during such an event. Kenya is a democratic nation where leaders should seek for votes by outlining their agenda not frustrating their opponents.

Kenyans of sound mind can see that the President and his Deputy ‘fear’ the former prime minister. Raila has now got something to talk about in his rallies.

For instance, President Uhuru Kenyatta attack on Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan has made him stronger, which is not different with Raila’s case.  The nation has not reached a point whereby leaders cannot tolerate the ideas of others.
