Kennedy Wambua Ngunze 'Wa-Maria popularly known for his hit song 'Fundamentals' is a Kenyan musician dubbed as 'the King of Benga'.

1. Was a hawker

Trying to make ends meet before venturing into music, Ken Wamaria used to be a hawker in Nairobi and at one point he even worked in the Jua-Kali industry and as a casual laborer in factories in Athi River. Later he started selling clothes in Gikomba market. Against all odds, Ngunze is among the millionaire artists in Kenya.

2. Holds Bachelors Degree in Bussiness Statistics

Ken Wamaria is an undergraduate student at St.Pauls University currently studying Masters in Bussiness Statistics.

3. Gets depressed if he misses lectures

No matter how some of the university students would be happy missing lectures, Wa-Maria gets depression if he misses lectures.

4. Married with two children

Ken wa Maria is married to a woman named Angela Wambua and blessed with two children. He has also invested in numerous properties from his hard work.

5. Has a 12 member band

Ken Wamaria having been a professional artist for over fifteen years, he has been able to establish at least 37 bands from his Kamba tribe. He has forty albums available on CD and cassete and has recorded more than 18 VCD's. He says he has no hard feelings for rival singer Ben Mbatha (Kativui) who was once part of his band but left to form his own.

In 2017 Wa Maria vied for an MCA seat in his hometown, Matuu in Yatta Constituency on a Wiper Party ticket but lost to Julius Mbili Ndawa.
