Machakos incumbent Alfred Mutua has promised to continue the transformation of his county if given a second term in office. The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said that he will solve the Ukambani trademark problem by 2020. Mutua stated during the gubernatorial debate that all homes in Machakos will have clean piped water by 2020.
“We want clean water in our households. By 2020 we will have piped water in all Machakos County homes,” Mutua said.
The governor went on to showcase his exceptional achievements compared to other county bosses countrywide. He said that his current project is a record fifth highway in Machakos County.
According to him, no other county boss has done such infrastructural uplift in their respective areas of jurisdiction. The Wiper defector urged voters to entrust him with the responsibility of developing the region in the next five years. He said time has been the only limitation to achieving the Chap Chap promise.
“I am the only governor with highways. I am on my fifth highway. We must do things the Chap Chap way. We cannot do things in four years due to inadequate funding from the national government. My projects attract money,” said the governor.
