Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has promised a heaven to Machakos students. According to Mutua’s manifesto, every child in his county proceeding to tertiary education will have full funding from his county government. The incumbent has also promised to hire more ECDE teachers and increase bursary allocation by June 2018.
“Every Machakos county Form Four leaver regardless of the grade, who are admitted for a certificate, diploma, higher diploma, degree course, masters or PhD, my government will pay the student’s 100 per cent fees until completion,” reads part of the manifesto.
The MCC boss has also promised jobs through the ongoing projects and much more that will start in August. The manifesto also outlines how he will create a conducive business environment and promote women and Machakos youths. There are also plans of setting up a Machakos Bank.
Kalonzo’s political son also announced his 2022 presidential bid. He is following in the footsteps of former land CS Charity Ngilu and NASA running mate Kalonzo Musyoka. In 1997, Mama Ngilu tried but failed terribly while Kalonzo contested in 2007 but lost to Retired President Mwai Kibaki.
“I have traversed the country and people tell me they want rapid development. That is why I have accepted their call,” Mutua said.
