Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has received a promotion.
The no-nonsense police boss who served as Mombasa Commissioner before being promoted to be in charge of security in all the six Coast region counties, is the new Devolution Principal Secretary under the Ministry of Devolution and ASAL areas.
President Uhuru Kenyatta rewarded Marwa (on Friday) who has severally clashed with opposition leaders in Coast region, especially Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.
Marwa will work under the new Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry, Eugene Wamalwa, who served as Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary in Uhuru's immediate cabinet.
"Principal Secretary Devolution will be forwarding the name of Nelson Marwa to assume that position," said Kenyatta, at State House Nairobi.
Uhuru nominated Hussein Dado as the Chief Administrative Secretary under the Ministry, and Marwa will as well work under him.
Principal Secretary for ASAL is Michael Powon.
