It is a sigh of relief for Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
This is after the former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar applied to withdraw a petition he had filed in court to challenge his win in the August polls.
Omar in his withdrawal petition said he no longer had confidence on the neutrality of the presiding judge hearing the case.
"It will be hypocritical for the petitioners to proceed with this matter when they believe that the honourable court is already biased against them," Omar's petition read in part. Below is Omar's withdrwal petition:
