DP William Ruto toured Ukambani on Sunday and promised some great goodies to the locals ahead of the October 17 rerun. The DP promised to give security to all Kenyans ahead of the presidential battle. He urged locals and other Kenyans to be peacegful during the polls.

Speaking in Vota at Chrisco Church, Machakos County, Ruto asked politicians not to front their interests against the common good of Kenyans. He said that national examinations will go on as scheduled.

"The government will ensure the people participate in electing the president of their choice once again without any fear. We will make sure that nothing interferes with the people of Kenya in exercising their democratic rights in an organized and peaceful manner," Ruto said as quoted by the Star.

Ruto requested Christians to pray for leaders so that they hold peaceful campaigns. He also asked them to pray for IEBC so that the entity delivers credible elections.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, MPs Rachel Nyamai, Victor Munyaka, Fabian Muli, Vincent Musyoka and Kimani Ichungwa accompanied the DP.
