Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga landed in London on Thursday morning and straight away went to meet the man who seats at the helm of the Anglican Church. The two held a short prayer at Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby’s official residence before holding formal talks. It’s still unclear what the two discussed, but the former Prime Minister after the talks only said: “Spiritual guidance is of utmost importance at this juncture in our nation's history.”“I value greatly the wise counsel that Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury and the principal leader of the Anglican Church, imparted when I paid a courtesy call on him this morning,” said Raila in a Facebook post.Raila departed from the country on Wednesday night for the trip days after he withdrew his candidature for the October 26 repeat election arguing that IEBC officials have failed to make necessary reforms as directed by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court after the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election directed the IEBC to conduct a fresh election with guidance of the Constitution and other electoral laws.Details of Raila’s trip to the UK and US are not known yet as officials from the former Roads minister’s office are not free to comment on the trip.
