Dr William Kingi, the Mombasa Deputy Governor convened an inaugural meeting of Kenya Cities Forum at the Council of Governors headquarters in Nairobi.
The Kenya Cities Forum is an initiative of City counties to harness collective advocacy for the interests of the cities in resources allocation by the national government.
The meeting brought together county government officials from the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu and Nakuru which are the most affected by the emergent issues of managing sustainable resilient cities.
"Through this initiative we shall be able to leverage the economies of scale within the member city counties for the benefit of our residents," said Kingi on Thursday.
Deputy Governors represented the counties.
