Ababu Namwamba is smiling all the way to his new position months after losing his Budalangi parliamentary seat to ODM's former area MP Raphael Wanjala.

Namwamba, who branded himself 'Generali', ditched his ODM party Secretary-General position to become Labour Party of Kenya Leader, and later declared his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, breaking his longtime friendship with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

He widely campaigned for Kenyatta in the Western Kenya region and pledged to stick with him.On Friday, January 27, Namwamba landed a state job after Kenyatta nominated him as the Chief Administrative Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Namwamba will be working under Monica Juma who was elevated from the Ministry's Principal Secretary (PS) position.

Namwamba will be above Ambassador Macharia Kamau who is the new Foreign Affairs PS and Chris Kiptoo who is the new International Trade PS.

During the televised unveiling, Kenyatta said the Chief Administrative Secretary would broadly be responsible for helping the Cabinet Secretary to better coordinate the running of the affairs of their respective ministries.
