Keen to galvanize his coastal political turf, ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has assembled a team of close allies to spearhead his campaigns in the region and to further counter Jubilee's constant encroachment.
With 1.7 million votes at stake in the expansive region, the former Premier is keen to use the numbers to fulfill his State House dream in his fourth stab at the Presidency. And to do this, he has put in place foot soldiers to do the ground work.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is also Raila's deputy in ODM will lead the campaigns in the region.
Banking on his combative style of politics and his new-found fame, the fiery Governor is the man to deliver the region's votes to Raila.
Joho will closely work with his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi in a bid to counter Jubilee's charm offensive in the region.
Also in the team is ODM Tana River gubernatorial candidate Dado Godana who is back in the political limelight after years in the wilderness.
A veteran in politics, Dado is believed to be an asset especially in NASA's bid to change the whole of Coast into an opposition zone.
Kilifi Woman Representative Aisha Jumwa who is ODM's Malindi MP seat nominee and her Mombasa counterpart Mishi Mboko are also key members of the team.
With Jubilee already having assembled their own team to deliver the region to the President, ODM is now plotting to deal them a major blow even as the supremacy battle between the two sides of the political divide gains momentum each passing day.
