A new research has revealed that your penis needs vitamin D in order to perform better when it comes to the bedroom. The study also argues that lack of the vitamin is likely to lead to erectile dysfunction. 143 men are tested with different degrees of erectile dysfunction. It was realized that around half of them had issues with their levels of Vitamin D.

One a handful of them had optimal levels of the Vitamin.  Men who were found with severe cases of ED were also realized to be having low levels of the vitamin. Lack of the vitamin in the required levels is likely to spur the release of free radicals referred to as superoxide ion as per a study conducted by author Alessandra Barassi, M.D., and her research team.

 The free radicals end up depleting your level of nitric oxide, which is responsible for the proper functioning of the blood vessels. “Nitric oxide causes the blood vessels to relax, which increases the blood flow and causes an erection under normal circumstances,” says Larry Lipshultz, M.D., a Men’s Health urology advisor.
