Jubilee party was in Ukambani last week and its tour was accompanied by numerous promises. Makueni County was the climax and President Uhuru promised greatness for Ukambani if he gets a second term in office. According to Uhuru, only Jubilee has the solution to the Lower Eastern regional problems.
Jubilee started by outlining what they have done for the region in the four years they have manned Kenya. They also took a swipe at local leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka for doing nothing for decades compared to UhuRuto’s one term. Kenyatta pointed at infrastructure, electricity connectivity and water provision as some of the major achievements in the region.
“We have implemented more projects in this region during the short duration we have been in office than all previous governments. We want to continue with the same trend until all your development needs have been addressed,” President Uhuru said in Kilome Constituency.
On the future plans, Jubilee promised to construct the Kviani and Kaiti dams for irrigation and domestic consumption at a cost of Sh4.8 billion. The President urged residents to support them and shun opposition that he said is only concerned with egocentric gains among the principals.
“These are some of the projects that we want to finish so that we complete the journey we have embarked on to transform the Ukambani region. We are asking you to walk with us on this journey because the opposition has shown that they have no plans to lift your lives apart from catering for their own interests,” Uhuru said.
