Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi received a delegation from the German embassy led by the German ambassador to Kenya Jutta Frasch who paid a courtesy call on the Governor Ali Joho's office.
They deliberated on possible areas of partnerships in Education, Blue economy specifically commercialized fish harvesting and processing, waste management, JKP and CVE with a clear focus on the rehabilitation and reintegration of terrorism returnees back to the society.
The German government through KFW has plans to develop three centres of excellence in Kenya to offer vocational training with Mombasa being one of the counties being considered.
"This will equip our youth with much needed skills. The county government of Mombasa will also gain from the borrowed expertise of German companies in managing solid waste disposal," Kingi said on Wednesday.
The DG affirmed that the county government would continue working closely with the German embassy for the mutual benefit of Mombasa citizens.
