In the Spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on May 19, issued a directive to the management of Coast General Hospital to waive all charges that were due to patients who had been discharged but were unable to pay their bills due to financial challenges.
It was a reprieve for 90 patients who have now rejoined their families at home.
"I wish them all good health and happiness," he said.
This even as Joho broke the fast with the traders of MacKinnon Market and the people of Old Town on Wednesday May 23.
He had a productive engagement with the market vendors and discussed several ideas in enhancing service delivery and making the market more conducive for trading.
