[Photo|Busia County Government]A student from Busia County who scored an A plain of 81 points at Moi High School Kabarak wants to become a doctor.Vernon Ipomai from Amoni village in Teso North said to pursue medicine as a career has been his early childhood dream.Speaking on phone from Nairobi on Thursday where his father, Tom Ipomai is working, Vernon said hard work he put in his four years at Kabarak came to pay off and thanked God for answering his prayers."There is no shortcut to success in life. I put everything in my studies in addition to quality teaching staff and it was a relief that came to pay off dividends," he said.Vernon's father said his son who scored 412 in KCPE marks was disciplined and hardworking and it came to pay off.Vernon, the index 12 student was among 10 students from the school to score a straight A. There were only 142 As scored in this year's KCSE exams.Alliance High School registered the highest number of As. They had 16 with Maranda, Kabarak and Kenya registering 10 As each.Busia County failed to produce a single A for the second year running, thus earning the wrath of the County Education Board.Only six A- were registered in the entire county. Butula Boys and Sigalame produced two A- each with Kolanya Girls and St Mathias Busia Boys registering one each.
