Jubilee Party Mombasa governor hopeful Suleiman Shahbal has highlighted his development agenda for the coastal city.
Speaking during the Jubilee Party Mombasa aspirants meeting on Tuesday, Shahbal listed some of the key development areas he will focus on, key among them being the development of infrastructure and improvement in the state of health facilities.With the tourism sector facing its own challenges, Shahbal aims to revive the sector and make it economically viable especially for a county that draws much of its revenues from the sector.In his bid to expedite development in the county, Shahbal aims to allocate Sh 50 million towards development projects which he says will improve the fortunes of the people living in the city.Aiming to contain the insecurity problem that has always been synonymous with the county, the governor hopeful hopes to tackle the massive unemployment among the youths head on, something he says is a contributing factor to the insecurity menace.Other development issues which Shahbal believes will give him an edge over his rivals is proper solid waste management and tackling the perennial water problem in Mombasa.
