Siaya Senator James Orengo has said President Uhuru Kenyatta has colluded with the electoral commission to have NASA leader Raila Odinga's name on the ballot paper.

Raila has already withdrawn from the race slated for October 26 after the IEBC failed to meet NASA's 'irreducible minimum' demands.

But speaking in Nairobi on Friday, Orengo said the President and the Wafula Chebukati-led agency were keen to have Raila's name on the ballot for legitimacy purposes.

"They want to have him in the polls to legitimise and sanitise their planned sham elections," Orengo said.

Chebukati has already gazetted Raila's name, maintaining the NASA candidate had not withdrawn procedurally.

IEBC insists that Raila must sign Form 24A to formally withdrawal his candidature.

Speaking elsewhere in London, Raila said he will not need to sign the statutory form because he already wrote a letter to the commission to pull out of the race.

"When we wrote to the IEBC for my withdrawal, it meant they have to organise fresh elections in 90 days," the former Prime Minister said.
