Opposition leader Raila Odinga has challenged the Maasai community to vote out President Uhuru Kenyatta and instead back the opposition in the August elections.
Speaking in Narok on Sunday shortly after receiving Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta who dumped Jubilee Party for ODM, Raila accused the Jubilee administration of failing to implement the Truth Justice and Reconciliation (TJRC) report that looked to solve historical land injustices, the Nation has reported.
“Even land matters that have been a thorn in most of the pastoralist counties, this government has refused to address them,” Odinga said.
“The report (TJRC) was released in May 2013, but up to now, the National Assembly is yet to deal with it. Jubilee has less than 10 months to vacate office yet they have not done anything,” he explained.
“The Maasais have very good reasons to vote against the Jubilee government this year. Jubilee has neglected you and stolen your land through cartels in the government,” he added.
Odinga further pledged to implement the report fully if elected president in the next general election.
