The decision was reached Friday morning following shortage of ballot papers in the region.
Nandi county Jubilee returning officer, Solomon Mangira noted that polling kits were insufficient.
“We found that kits issued to some stations had half the number of ballot papers required. Such incidences were reported across numerous polling centres in the county,” Mangira told Citizen Digital by phone.
He said the decision to stop the exercise was reached after county election board officials and aspirants deliberated.
“We agreed to stop the process until we sort out the matter. I have reported the incident with our regional team, and we will communicate once we get direction on the way forward,” he added, early Friday morning.
