It all started in March, when the former Prime Minister met President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House,  and signed a unity pact.

In the pact, the two leaders vowed to ensure the country is united, devolved units are strengthened and Kenyans benefit from efficient service delivery.

After signing the agreement, Odinga met one of his sharp critiques, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria where they discussed several issues and had another handshake.

The former Premier later traveled to Baringo County where he visited former President Daniel Arap Moi.

Sources privy to the meeting noted that, it was politically oriented as Odinga visited Mzee Moi to check up on him following his recent illness.

Today, Odinga has held a meeting with former President Mwai Kibaki.

The recent handshakes have left Kenyans wondering why Odinga is meeting and engaging his former political rivals.

The answer the is simple, Odinga is aging and may soon retire from politics. He, therefore, wants to leave the political arena with a clean record.

It is for this reason that Odinga is conducting 'reconciliatory missions' with his political rivals.

He wants to remain a State man of high stature and a man to emulate in the Kenyan political scene.
