Detectives in Dagoretti are investigating the probable owner of a pistol which was recovered hidden in a manhole at Mariatha Muslims area.According to the Area OCPD, Rashid Mohamed, the weapon was retrieved by a man who was repairing sewer lines in the area. "A plumber repairing sewer lines at Mariatha Muslims area stumbled upon the gun and reported the matter at Muthangari police station. Our officers rushed to the scene and recovered the weapon,"he said.Rashid said the pistol of Ceska model has been handed over to ballistic experts for examination. Part of the study would be to verify if the gun has been used in any criminal activity. The area is famous for notorious armed gangs who terrorise residents and motorists.
