Nairobi High Court has ordered the release of opposition’s self-proclaimed ‘General’ Miguna Miguna.

In his orders, High court Judge  Wakiaga released Miguna, who is also the leader of the 'outlawed' NRM on a Ksh50,000 cash bail.

The orders were issued after Miguna Miguna through lawyer Nelson Havi moved to court under a certificate of urgency seeking court orders to have police release him on bail.

Miguna Miguna argued that the powers to arrest were being abused by the police and used to oppress him.

This comes after police raided and ransacked his home at Runda Estate in Nairobi on Friday morning.

His arrest came a day after that of the Ruaraka MP Tom Joseph Kajwang who was charged with participating in an illegal assembly and administering an illegal oath.

Miguna Miguna stood next to the NASA leader Raila Odinga during the event held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.

The officers busted the strong doors of Miguna’s house before nabbing him.

They then reportedly drove out in a convoy of vehicles to an unknown destination.

On January 30, the Interior CS Fred Matiang’i banned NRM after declaring it an illegal outfit.

Miguna played a key role in the controversial swearing in.
