The High Court in Kiambu has barred entertainment joint owners within the county from renewing their licences ahead of the hearing and determination of a suit.
The orders were issued after Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu petitioned the court saying the rise in the sale of alcohol in the county was ruining the lives of many residents.
Alcohol and Beverages Association of Kenya and the agents have also been blocked from selling alcohol drinks to bar owner in the devolved unit.
Justice Joel Ngugi at the same time issued orders stopping the Kiambu Liquor Welfare Gruop (KLWG) from disbanding itself.
Waititu had expressed fears that the group may disband itself thereby giving its members the opportunity to apply for beer selling licences without saying the location of their businesses.
The Kiambu County Assembly on Wednesday passed the Alcohol Drinks Control Bill prohibiting the uncontrolled sale of alcohol in the county.
"In the absence of self regulation of the industry players, the sale and consumption of illicit brew substandard and adulterated alcoholic beverages will continue to thrive even with the existence of water tight laws," Waititu said.
Kiambu, currently in the country is ranked among counties with the highest levels of alcohol consumption.
