As the country prepares for President Uhuru Kenyatta's swearing-in for his second term on Tuesday, a number of high profile guests are expected to grace the event that will take place at Nairobi's Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

By Saturday evening, at least 26 heads of state and government had confirmed their attendance.

The confirmation meant that they will either come in person or send their personal representatives.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed his attendance in person.​

According to Times of Israel, Netanyahu will touch ground on the morning of the swearing-in day (Tuesday) and leave later the same day.

Tanzania's President John Magufuli has also confirmed his attendance.

It is expected that Uganda's Yoweri Museveni and South Sudan's Salva Kiir will be among leaders trooping in to witness the beginning of Uhuru's second teerm.

However, the government has remained tight-lipped on the identities of other leaders invited for the function.
