Tension is high in Shinyalu constituency after the death of a local ODM official.
It is alleged that Martin Musonye was poisoned during a party in the area.
He served as the opposition party's tresurer.
Area MP Silverse Anami has urged constituents to remain calm following the sudden death of Musonye.
Reports indicate that Musonye a former civic leader died shortly after he left an ODM meeting in Shinyalu.
Addressing constituents on Thursday, Anami said the party had lost a staunch supporter and a committed leader who worked for the party with a lot of devotion.
However, he took issue with those peddling rumours that Musonye could have been given food laced with poison by his political enemies.
