Sheng has grown from being used in Kenyan ghettoes to be used in formal conversations. Internet has been a spearheader in the spread of this lingo.

Currently, the latest phrase 'Lamba lolo' has been taking over the country by storm. It is one of the most searched terms online as per now.

This phrase has been trending with memes going viral and it may take over from phrases that were there before such as 'tibim' and 'tialala'.

A local radio station took to the streets of Eldoret town to find out what the residents think it means. They mainly targetted the youths in the region who are mostly considered the users of the phrase.

Here are the funny responses they gave;

"First, Lamba is a Swahili word meaning lick. On the other hand, Lolo is a Sheng word for the lollipop.So I guess lamba lolo simply means lick the lollipop," said the person who identified himself as Barrack.

"I think it means to sip juice," another person responded laughing.

"Since it is a sheng language, it has a hidden meaning, I don't really know," answered a young man.

Another person who did not want to identify himself said, "It simply means to have sex"

"It is to lowrider or to be crazy," said Jerop.
