This is part of an ongoing five-year $50 million investment plan for the Hilton’s Sub-Saharan African portfolio that was announced recently.

“With the number of travelers visiting Kenya growing year-on-year, we are delighted to be opening the first Double Tree by Hilton property in Nairobi in such a prime location with easy access to corporate offices and tourist attractions in Nairobi,” said Nitin Gupta, the general manager.

“We look forward to opening our doors and providing our warm welcome to leisure and business guests alike, as they explore everything the capital has to offer.”  Gupta added.

Hilton is a leading global hospitality company, with a portfolio of 14 world-class brands comprising more than 5,100 properties with nearly 838,000 rooms in 103 countries and territories.

The plan is to convert around 100 hotels in multiple African markets into Hilton branded properties, providing instant benefits such access to leading innovative technology, including digital-check in. The establishment has been opened as the first Double Tree branded property in Kenya joining other five Double Tree by Hilton properties open across Africa.

Guests can now explore the heart of the capital, as the hotel is ideally located just a few kilometers away from the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre and the David Shedrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage, or stroll through the city’s various shopping malls. Travelers also have easy access to Nairobi’s central and financial districts, including Nairobi Business Park, corporate houses and NGO centres.
