Despite their strike being declared illegal by the City Hall, doctors in Nairobi County have refused the call to take their tools of work daring the Nairobi county government to sack them and hire the services of interns instead.
According to Medical practitioners union secretary general Ouma Oluga, City Hall was apparently 'hallucinating' following a previous threat from the county government to take disciplinary action on the striking medics if they did not resume their duties immediately.
The doctors dared the government to make good their threat, fire them and hire interns to replace them just shortly after Nairobi health executive Bernard Muia addressed the media.
Contrary to what Muia had earlier told the press, Ouma came clear of the same saying that the medics' grievances are yet to be attended to and said that their strike which started on Monday stands unaltered.
"When they wake up let them resolve the issues presented to them," Ouma said.
The doctors downed their tools demanding for for their delayed payments and promotions citing that they are yet to be paid in the last six months of their service to the county government.
