The goal of returning Kenya to its glory days in hockey is a daunting one after the same Kenya Hockey Union leaders were re-elected back into office on Saturday.
The officials, who have been at the helm, will be looking to turn things around for hockey in the country, and hope to return the country to its glory days.
Nashon Randiek is still the president of the Union, with Elyna Shiveka and Michael Malungu being the first and second Deputy President respectively.
Wycliffe Momanyi is the Secretary-General of the union, with Godfrey Bila as the treasurer. Other leaders include Syed Shah, John Nyamogo, Moses Majiwa and Leonard Mutuku.
The Kenyan Men hockey team had its best result in hockey world cup, finishing fourth in the 1971 competition.
Since then the game has been at its lowest, with an unstructured league and poor grassroots development for young players.
According to the officials, lack of resources and means to build infrastructure has been their major undoing, leading to deteriorating standards.
The union has put in place plans to have more stadia across the country, with only City grounds their best hockey pitch in the country.
They have also indicated that they will make sure they take the game to the grassroots, to identify new young talent.
