The national government has been challenged to call for a stakeholders meeting in which the issue of school fires will be addressed.
Speaking on Monday at Itibo Boys High School, Stephen Nyarang’i who is eyeing for MP seat in Kitutu Chache North, called for the government to call for a meeting with all stakeholders to add the issue which has become the wound in the region and the country in large.
Nyarang’i called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to call for a meeting in which stakeholders will have an opportunity of deliberating issues on how they will curb the problem.
"I urge the President to call for a meeting in which stakeholders can meet to address this if we are not going to address this issues we will have no schools,” said Nyarang’i.
The aspiring MP also called upon the Education CS, Fred Matiang’i to react upon by looking for better solutions in which the issue of fires will be addressed.
“We have been hearing these cases of fire in our schools we urge the state to call up for a meeting with stakeholders and other leaders so that we can address this,” stated Nyarang’i.
The fire incident at Itibo Boys gutted down one dormitory affecting 25 students.
