ODM aspirants eyeing various seats in Nyamira County have been challenged to put aside their bids and wait for party nominations when the right time comes.
Addressing residents and county leaders who were present during the recent visit by ODM party leader Raila Odinga and other officials, the aspirants were told to support the current leadership and wait for the nominations.
Many aspirants have shown their interest in various seats, more so the gubernatorial seat which is currently held by Governor John Nyagarama.
Raila who toured the county on Friday, challenged those who have shown interest in various seats to hold on until the party nominations which he said will be fair and free.
“We urge those who have shown interest in various seats to hold on and support the current leaders so that we can strengthen our party ahead of the general election. They should wait for the nominations which will be free and fair,” he said.
There has been much concern about the nominations and who will get the ODM ticket more so the gubernatorial seat, with the current ODM chairman who is also West Mugirango MP James Gesami seeking tomoust Nyagarama.
