[Photo|Department of Immigration]The Ministry of Interior, Department of Immigration has notified the general public, that it will start issuing e-Passport with effect from September 1, 2017.In a public notice, the department indicated holders of valid current passports will be allowed to use them for the next 2 years, that is, up to August 31, 2019 after which they will be rendered invalid.
The department noted that it will no longer be issuing the current Ordinary, Diplomatic and East African passports, after September 1."Please note that the department will no longer be issuing the current Ordinary, Diplomatic and East African passports," read the notice in part.
