Matiang'i warned teachers and school administrations against conspiring with parents to implement outlawed holiday tuition saying the government will take stern action against any headteacher found to have defied the ban on holiday tuition.

The KNUT national treasurer challenged parents to seize the opportunity of interacting with their children during school holidays instead of treating them as social and economic burdens.

Matiang'i regretted that many parents looked at their children as a burden during holidays and instead take to holiday tuition as a solution.

"I am challenging parents to encourage the culture of interacting with their children during holidays instead of pushing to have them attend outlawed holiday tuition in the name of relieving themselves from the perceived social and economic challenges posed by their children during school holidays," stated Matiang'i.
