[Photo| Daily Nation]Ex-Kasipul Kabondo Member of Parliament Joseph Oyugi Magwanga won in his first round of election petition in the Homa Bay gubernatorial race.This was after the Homa Bay High Court granted his application by directing the scrutiny of forms 37A, 37B, and 37C that were used to declare incumbent Governor Cyprian Awiti the winner in the August 8 polls.The judge, Joseph Karanja, also ordered a recount of votes cast in every polling station in the county. The court also ordered for a scrutiny and an audit of the KIEMS and any other technology deployed during the poll.The exercise will start on Tuesday next week.In his petition, Magwanga sued the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), returning officer Michael Kosgei, Awiti and Homa Bay deputy governor Hamilton Orata.
The former MP wants Awiti's victory to be nullified.
