Luora Mixed Secondary School student, Clifford Odhiambo, took poison to protest against his teachers who allegedly denied him entry into form four, Friday.

In a suicide note, Odhiambo wrote that he opted to take his life because two of his teachers had forced him to repeat form three. He died while undergoing treatment at the county’s referral hospital.

Homa Bay Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director Diosiana Ahindukha said the school principal had allowed the student admission into the next class but the two teachers refused to let him, into the class.

''I don’t know who is heading that school if teachers can overturn an important directive given by a head teacher, leading to the death of a student,” said Ahindukha.

She directed the school head and the affected teachers to record a statement with the police to give room for investigations, according to the Standard.

“We are not going to entertain this kind of mischief. The teachers will suffer stern measures upon completion of investigations,” Ahindukha added.

Following Odhiambo’s death, County Police Commander John Omusanga said his school mates went on the rampage and destroyed property
