A study has found out that homosexuality in schools begins at the primary education level.

The report shows that most cases of same-sex relationships reported in high schools had their foundations in primary schools.

This study findings by a special investigation team on the school unrest last year were presented to the Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i recently.

It also identified social groupings as a key source of the practice.

According to the study, students who are lesbians are always absent-minded, lack classroom concentration and are very secretive.

Their other characteristics include girls buying bananas and test tubes to ‘use’ in their dormitories, remarkable hostility towards the opposite sex, great affection to same gender and having possessive friendship.

They write love notes to fellow girls, to girls behaving like men, and don funny hairstyles.

On gay boys, the report says that they are attracted to fellow boys, share gifts and often beds, are uncomfortable in female company and have a feminine character.

They also possess condoms, have possessive friendships, love sagging their of trousers and are shy and very friendly.

“It is important to note that most teachers avoided mentioning the occurrence of the issues. This could be due to secrecy or fear being associated with the issues,” states the report.
