The nurses’ union on Thursday met representatives of the Council of Governors, in a bid to end the ongoing nurses strike that began early June.

Kenya National Union of Nurse's deputy secretary general Maurice Opetu said he attended the consultative meeting at the CoG office.

“The talks were fruitful. We’re very hopeful,” Opetu said.

The meeting comes after the union wrote to CoG on July 13, saying they were now ready for dialogue.

Opetu said they were ready to participate in discussions that would lead to the signing of the stalled CBA.
