The families of two people who are still missing after the Lake Nakuru chopper crash have been asked to accept the fact that their remains might not be found.
The families of John Mapozi and Sam Gitau have been camping at the shores of the lake for several weeks hoping to find the remains of their loved ones so that they can give them a decent burial and therefore bring the matter to a close.
But, this might not happen with all the search teams having pulled out a few days after the fuselage of the ill-fated chopper was retrieved from the lake in November.
Yesterday, a meeting to call off the search was postponed indefinitely after officials from the National Disaster Operations Centre (NDOC), which has been spearheading the operation at the lake failed to attend the meeting called by Governor Lee Kinyanjui. Later, Kinyanjui said the decision was taken because they had not received the technical report from the agency about the status of the search.
