Following weeks of endless court battles and financial queries Nakumatt has begun to show some signs of life.
After filing a petition in court, the company managed to prevent the closure of its Junction outlet by the owners of the mall.
Justice Joseph Onguto ruled in favor of the retailer chain and blocked the owners from shutting of the premises.
“We met with the directors and managers of the Junction Mall led by director Andrew Ndegwa and the MD of Knight Frank Ben Woodhams on 25 September 2017 to demonstrate to them the restocking plan that we had initiated and that was building up to achieve full stocking by 1 December 2017. The directors and managers wished us well in this endeavor,” the retailer said.
The Supermarket also issued a message to the public via its Nakumatt Holdings page updating its customers on the current state of the junction branch. “Busy evening restocking the branches including @thejunctionmall #stepbystep #keepthefaith,” the post read. As the company plans to patch their financial wounds Kenyans are eagerly awaiting to see how the company bounces back.
