More than 400 orphans and underprivileged children from Rhonda, Nakuru County have benefited from a sponsorship program that has seen them acquire education.
The school program which is sponsored by an NGO based in Germany has also provided basic needs to the needy children.
Speaking to the media on Saturday during the graduation ceremony for 31 top class pupils in Nakuru which was also attended by a team of German-based sponsors, Live and Learn Kenya Chair Brique Zoiner said the organisation is committed to break the cycle of poverty witnessed in informal settlement in the country.
"Our aim is to empower the young generation by giving them quality education which is now a basic right of all children," she said.
"This is why we are happy to see these group of children graduate as they prepare to move on to another level."
According to Zoiner, Live and Learn Primary School is currently hosting 431 children , from nursery school to class three and will continue expanding the facility to accommodate more underprivileged children from other surrounding areas and other Counties.
She however, called on the county government to help them in nurturing the children while also challenging other regions to follow their step.
She said children were future leaders of the nation.
"We also have youth who will be ready to graduate from public universities in the country," she added.
"We are also proud that we have those who had completed their vocational training and are currently working as tutors, carpenters, mechanics and hairdressers. It is with this line that I urge the county government of Nakuru to support our program so that we can get more children enrolled for these courses."
The graduation ceremony was also attended by some students who had graduated from the school.
They also took time to appreciate the program as well as encouraging those still learning to work hard in their studies.
