The ministry of health and the doctors officials had initiated fresh talks in the last two days, and all seemed to be well until the latest setback.
Sources say after a day-long haggling on Wednesday over whether to consider the 2013 CBA as the valid negotiation document, the government team has retreated to a new venue to work on a new package that will be presented to the doctors.
The doctors on the other hand have insisted they won’t take anything less than their demand, a 300 percent increase on their current earnings.
The Kenya dentist union is set to call a major demonstration on Monday, to protest what it terms as lack of seriousness from the government to address their grievances.
Medical students from different universities in the country joined the strike with the medics, in pushing for the implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The students demanded action from the government that will see their lecturers, who are part of their lecturers get back in class.
The students demonstrated from the Kenyatta National Hospital to the ministry of education, causing a huge snarl up in the town.
