Hopes of retrieving two bodies of victims of the Nakuru chopper crash have faded.
This is after the teams that were involved in recovery mission packed and left.
The National Disaster Operations Desk manager, Mr Johnathan Kertich, confirmed that they left the shores of the lake where they had pitched desk.
“We closed the camp on Monday after retrieving the bodies of the three victims and the helicopter wreckage. However, KWS rangers are still patrolling the shores of the lake to see if the bodies could have been swept offshore,” said the officer.
Those still missing are John Mapozi and Sam Gitau.
A family source of one of the victims lamented that those who were involved in the recovery seems to have cut communication with them.
"We no longer get updates or anything. We don't even know what is now happening and it pains us so much. Imagine what we are going through this festive season as other families celebrate," the source said.
Though the family has accepted that their son can be no more, they feel the recovery and closure of the matter is been handled so casually.
