Victims of the accident that occurred along the Kisii-Keroka road near Kisii school have been discharged from hospital. Speaking in his office, Kisii County Director of Health Dr Geoffrey Otomu said only one of the victims who had to undergo an operation is remaining in hospital. “The victims of the accident are now in good condition and they have been allowed to go home," said Otomu. "Only one that underwent an operation is remaining in the hospital at the moment.” Residents of Kisii County have, however, called on the county government to ensure that all motorists in the county have fully complied to with road safety regulations. They called on the county and national governments to help in putting up slow bumps in the roads to force drivers slow down, adding that most residents in the area cross the road to one side to get water for their daily use. “We are tired of seeing people die here on this road very now and then and if the government cannot help, we are ready as business people to buy cement and put up the slow bumps ourselves,” said one of the residents who runs a business along the road. The Saturday midday accident claimed the lives of nine, many of who were pedestrians.
