Gatundu town residents expressed their gratitude to Kenyatta university management, during after the institution donated medical equipment to Gatundu District hospital.

Speaking to reporters early Saturday morning in one of the wards, James Muraya, the function coordinator assured residents their support in saving lives.

“We are committed and are ready to save evitable deaths that arise in the name of lowly equipped hospitals,” he said.

The hospital, which accommodates patients, has received machine appliances and furniture, which will push the delivery of services higher.

Many of the adherents who attended hid not their joy, thanking K.U team for a great sacrifice.

''We are very happy for the sacrifice behind helping upgrade this hospital in a bid to change livelihoods in this area,'' said Ann Muthoni.

In attendance were also area leaders, who appreciated the efforts taken to change society by Kenyatta University fraternity, saying this is a great sign of how concerned this institution is.

The equipment are expected to help the hospital deal with a larger number of patients, in a bid to improve health services.
