Barely two months after the formation of Jubilee Party, two key members of the outfit from the former Western Province have ditched it.

This is amid reports that the ground is turning hostile for the two politicians as they seek for reelection.

Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and Lugari MP Ayub Savula were considered two key members of the Uhuru-led party from the region that has traditionally supported Raila Odinga and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

The two lawmakers said they will notify the Registrar of Political parties about their decision.

According to Khaniri, many politicians are disgruntled in Jubilee Party.

"We have three options- to stay in the new party, join another party or become independent," Khaniri told the Star.

"I am not comfortable in the Jubilee Party since the merger was poorly managed and with no clear agenda for Kenyans."

The Senator said the party is not popular at the grassroots as it is 'tribal and corrupt'.

On his part, Savula said he will decide on which party to join.

However, he hinted at joining forces with other leaders from Western to form an alliance that will form and control the next government.
