There are different places that any couple can have sex in. However, very few have tried doing it in a hot tub particularly in a soaking tub.
Apart from the fact that getting it on in any body of water can put any woman in dangers of contracting Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), having sex in a hot and soaked bathtub can affect the vagina greatly, says gynecologist and author of Healthy Sex Drive, Diana Hoppe.
The following are some of what might happen when you have sex in hot and soaked tub according to the expert.
Sex can result in bruises and irritation
Sex requires lubrication in order to avoid any soreness that might occur due to friction, says Hoppe. However, when in a tub, the water tends to dissolve all the body natural lubrication. This might, in turn, lead to a painful intercourse.
Pregnancy can occur easily
Even with any contraceptive method such as a condom, pregnancy can still occur. This is because chemicals such as chlorine can make latex less effective and allow semen to pass through. Another thing is that condom can as well slide off underwater and increase chances of pregnancy.
Risk of getting infected
The bacterial balance in the vagina is likely to be affected by chlorine and other chemicals used in treating the tub. This is because these chemicals can affect the PH in the vagina.
If the PH is affected it can result in the death of good bacteria hence allowing bad bacteria to enter the vagina which might cause infection in the long run.
Therefore, besides being enjoyable and adventurous, sex in any tub can also cause a lot of negative things including infections.
