The court, before Resident Chief Magistrate James Mwaniki, heard that the accused had committed the offense between the February 13 and 15 this year at an unspecified location within Nakuru town using his mobile phone.

Allegedly on February 13 at around 10pm, the accused sent indecent text messages tantamount to an indecent sexual proposal to the complainant.

The target of these messages was his junior at his workplace. The magistrate heard that prior to the said act, the accused had been intimidating and arrogantly asking the complainant to visit his office where he could go further to ask her to join him at a private house.

According to the prosecution, on the eve of Valentine’s Day, the accused wrote sexually provocative text messages which he transmitted to the complainant’s phone which the court deemed directly translated to sexual harassment.

The magistrate further was told that the accused went ahead to send more texts to the complainant suggesting that they meet at a discreet location on valentine day for romance.

The accused denied the charges arguing that the complainant had always suggested the same to him and became jealous after realising that he was committed to another employee.

He was released on a Sh 50,000 cash bond until the next hearing on April 2.
